Remember the many Friday nights at the
“Community Building” ?
March is here and with it comes spring, although it seems like it has been with us for a while. Spring brings the long-awaited groundbreaking of the Veterans Honor Monument. The ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 8th at the monument site at Loveland Sports Park, 950 North Boyd Lake Avenue, Loveland, Colorado. You are all invited. Help us celebrate your long overdue monument. We hope to see you all there.
Most of the Loveland High School Alumni from the late 50’s through the early 70’s will probably remember the many Friday nights at the “Community Building” dancing, listening to the tunes and just having a good time. This dance was called “Wigwam.” For those that weren’t here at the time or haven’t enjoyed a night at Wigwam you are welcome to join in. This will include food, beverage, live music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and dancing. There will probably be some other surprises. Come join us and find out for yourselves Saturday, March 28th from 5-9 p.m. at the Pulliam Center, 545 North Cleveland Avenue, Loveland, Colorado. If you are planning on attending, please purchase your tickets on the website (link below) so we have numbers for planning. See attached flier.
Thank you for the many nominations we have received for the Honor Wall. We are reviewing nomination forms we have received to date. If you have submitted your form, you should be contacted soon by one of our committee members to verify your information and submittal for your payment. For those that have not submitted forms, you have until March 20th to receive reduced pricing for your nominations. The price for forms submitted through March 20 is $125. Beginning March 21, the price will be $250. Remember – self nomination is completely appropriate. Please feel free to share this information with friends and relatives in Loveland as not everyone is on our distribution list.
EXCITING NEWS: Remember those matching funds we let you know about a few days ago when we had 2 silent partners come forward with an offer to help us “OVER THE TOP.” In the last few days our supporters have made a major dent in those matching funds. Here is your chance to make a significant impact! Please help us over the top.
